Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine
We are very proud to be a Clinical Associate Practice of the Nottingham University School of Veterinary Medicine.
NUSVM
This means that we host rotations of final year veterinary students from Nottingham with a particular interest in companion animals. They have elected to come to Dovecote as part of their final clinical training, which enables them to see and participate in both first opinion and referral cases with our experienced team.
Students are able to learn from both our specialist vets and nurses in a real world setting, benefitting from our teaching, supervision and discussion of case studies. Thus whilst on rotation with us they learn not only how to deal with an individual case but also how to manage a caseload, work as part of a team and communicate well with both clients and other team members.
We have also learnt from our collaboration with Nottingham. We have been made to feel part of their team, especially when attending “train the trainer” events at the University and we have been visited by both their external examiners and the RCVS accreditation board as part of our on-going relationship with the vet school.
